Hope joined the fight after her daughter's friend died of a heroin overdose in April 2015.
In August of 2015, she hosted Mahoning County's First International Overdose Awareness Day Event. After meeting the parents of her daughter's friend and his father speaking at the event, Hope promised to carry on the fight to educate the public, fight the stigma and shame surrounding Substance Use Disorder, advocate for and empower those affected by SUD and their loved ones. .
OhioCAN Mahoning County has hosted other events such as Steps of Change and Hope has attended various public forums and community events, she has seen firsthand the devastation and destruction suffered by loved ones and the community which only fuels her desire to continue to fight on and help bring an end to this horrific health crisis.
Hope, a Licensed Massage Therapist who has been in private practice for 21 years, has 3 grown children, is the proud Gramma of 3 and lives with her significant other in Youngstown Ohio.
